Family Members/History: In the ever ceasing war against the forces of Doom, many good men and women have been sacraficed. One such man was Captin Jerod Alexander Drummond. Killed on a mission against the evil forces of Doom, he left behind a devoted wife, Shala Lynn, and son, Keith. Still no more than a babe, Keith never knew his father, but was raised knowing that he was an honorable man and a dedicated soldier.
When Shala went to visit her ailing aunt, tagedy struck again - Zaron's forces attacked and destroyed the distant planet on which she was visiting, leaving no one alive. Sadly, Keith, who just six years old, was left orpahened. With no known family left, he was taken in by Tom and Nora Warren, his parents' dearest friends.
Keith had a good life with the Warrens. The Warrens adopted Keith, loving him as their own child. With his new family, Keith found peace and happiness. Once an only child, he now had younger brother, Lance, and sister, Geni. Although he missed his mother, he grew up with an always present feeling of safety and the knowledge that true family can be more than those to which you are born.
Personality: Keith is his father's son. He's the strong, serious, silent type. He is smart, honorable, an incredible leader and very duty-bound. Lance and he grew up as brothers, yet they have always been the of best friends. He is close to both Hunk and Pidge, admiring both their unique talents. Although his relationship with Allura is much harder to define. Loving her with his entire heart, but unable to see himself as worthy of her love. The Captain is determined to protect the Princess, no matter the personal cost.
When this curious author took a little time to ask the rest of the characters what they thought about their noble Captain, here's what they had to say...
Coran: Keith is an admirable young man. A very devoted protector of all that is good and righteous.
Allura: (smiles shyly) Keith? He's the most wonderful person once you get to know him. It's taken a lot of work to try to coax him out of his shell, but once you do, he's so wonderful... And he's a really terrific kisser... (looks dreamy)
Shannon: (looking over her shoulder at Coran and Nanny) Princess, I really don't think you should say that so loudly...
Allura: (blusing and coming out of her reviere) Oh!
Shannon: Okay Pidge, what have you got to say?
Pidge: Keith is the best! One time, he took me to this really cool tech fair on Terra, and we saw all the newest-
Hunk: Hey Little Buddy, I don't think Shannon wants to hear all the details of the tech fair, right KS?
Shannon: (smiling patiently at Pidge), Well, I'd really love to but to be honest, I have to finish interviewing so many people today...
Pidge: (a little disappointed) Oh...
Shannon: (feeling guilty) But I promise that I'll make sure that I come back and talk to you real soon.
Hunk: (giving KS a smile) Right after you finish all that reconstruction for HRH, right?
Shannon: (looking even more guilty) Uh... Yeah, Big Guy, you know we have a lot of things in the works for your site, right? And I promise that I am going to get to work on that real soon...
Hunk: (giving KS a knowing smile and a quick wink) I know you are - I know you've been real busy in your RL.
Shannon: Okay, Big Guy, it's your turn - what's your take on Captain Keith?
Hunk: Well, you know I think Keith's the best commander around. He's a real devoted fellow, you know - and he and the Princess make a great couple (whispering) Tell KL that I think she and Keith would make a great couple, too, but Keith and the Princess are just meant to be....
Shannon: (whispering and smiling knowingly) KL knows that, Big Guy.
Hunk: (blushes) And tell KC that I said hi and I'm looking forward to seeing her Friday night...
Shannon: (giggles) Will do... (turning to Geni) Anything to add?
Geni: Keith is really awesome. A much better big brother than some people whose name I won't mention here, *cough*Lance*cough*...
Lance: (glares at Geni)
Geni: (smirks) Anyway... Seriously, Keith's smart, funny and just an all around great guy. After having the chance to spend a little more time around him on Arus, I have a new appreciation for what he and the rest of the Voltron Force do out here.
Shannon: Thanks, Geni! (looks startled as trumpets begin to sound loudly) Oh, I see the Forces of Doom have decided to join us...
Zarkon: Yes, we have - and I want to let you know that as much as I hate that Captain Keith, I would really like it if my son could at least try to be half the warrior-
Lotor: (interrupting) But Father!
Zarkon: (shouting) Silence!
Lotor: (pouting)
Zarkon: Keith is a formidable enemy.
Haggar: (cackling to herself) As well as a good looking chap...
Zarkon: (glaring at his witch) Did you say something, Old Hag?
Haggar: (hiding a smirk) Just that I know you'll defeat him, sire...
Zarkon: (looking appeased) Well, Lotor - now you choose to be silent?
Haggar: (in an aside) I wish he could be a little more silent around the castle...
Lotor: (striding forward and announcing to the room) That little twerp is trying to steal my beautiful Princess away... My lovely little flower simply doesn't see that the go-go boot wearing little fool is simply trying to usurp me in my rightful place by her side...
Shannon: Oookkaay, Lotor, I think it's time to move along... Nanny...?
Nanny: Out of all those hoodlums, Keith is the one I like the best. Mind you, I don't really care for his attentions toward my Allura, but as long as he remembers his place, I think he is acceptable.
Shannon: (rolling her eyes) Thank you, Nanny, let's move along to everyone's favorite pilot of the Red Lion... (smiles sweetly) Lance, would you like to add anything about Keith?
Lance: (smiling widely at the author) My brother? (smirks) He's a good enough guy, and he's perfect for the Princess but he can be a real tight a-
(Keith storms in and socks Lance in the arm)
Lance: (rubbing his arm) Hey what was that for?
Keith: (giving Lance an evil glare) That's enough Lance... Shannon doesn't want to hear your cr-
Shannon: It's okay Keith, I really do want to hear *everything* Lance has to say... (bats her eyelashes at the pilot of the Red Lion)
Lance: (grinning broadly) Hear that, Skipper, she wants to hear everything I have to say... (walking over to the authoress, he offers up his arm) Why don't we finish talking over a cup of coffee - I know a quiet little cafe not too far from here...
Shannon: (smiling and blushing) Okay...
Sorry guys, this is where I have to take a little coffe break... ~_^
